My New Fave - Stitch Fix

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Soooo I know I said I was going to highlight my favorite local things, but I can't resist posting about something new I tried, Stitch Fix!  I've seen other people post about this service on social media, but had yet to try it.  Now, I'm very into shopping in general and especially searching for deals, so one would think that I wouldn't need a service like this.  Well, I've been trying to mix it up and I'm so glad I did.  Everything more or less fit, and one shirt wowed and will definitely be my go to shirt this summer (see below)!  The whole return and "check-out" process was super easy too!  They include a return envelope you just drop in the mail with the items you don't want and you go to your account online and pay for the item or items you are actually keeping.  Easy peasy!

Cute packaging, good branding.

Stuff I'm returning.  Adorable prints, not quite the right fit.

The top I loooove and am keeping!  There is a crochet detail on the back too!

If you want to try it here is a link with my referral code: https://stitchfix.com/referral/5116366

I'm looking forward to receiving my one next month and will share what I think!  Does anyone else use this service?  What do you think?

xoxo, Christie

Welcome To My Blog!

Hey y'all!

I just recently moved back to Durham, NC from the great white north in PA and have been enjoying being back in this beautiful place!  My husband (Noel) and I lived in Reading, PA for three years and this area has grown so much since we've been gone.  We've had fun discovering and rediscovering favorite places and my aim for this blog is to share new favorite places and products that we find!  We both have so much love for sweet southern Carolina and are so excited to be back!

To kick off this first post, see below for my ten favorite things I happened upon this past month:

1. Parker and Otis

This place is a serious gem y'all.  We went there for brunch with some of our visitors after our housewarming party a few weeks ago and were blown away.  It was so good we went back yesterday.  Best. BLT. Ever.  Oh and their special yesterday was a BLT with homemade pimento cheese.  It doesn't get much better than that!

There are SO many options for sandwiches and they come with a delicious side of cole slaw.  You order at a counter and we sat outside to enjoy the perfect weather we're currently having here in NC.  Add that I can go shopping for some of the cutest cards and NC made gifts and I was one happy lady.

We went here for my cousin's birthday and were glad we made the trek to North Raleigh!  I had the special (swordfish tacos) with a super fresh salad and great margarita.

What is more southern than putting your monogram on everything?  I ordered this from May Designs, who I found randomly on Instagram.  It came in the mail last week and I couldn't be happier! Vibrant colors and you can choose what you want on the inside (lined pages, blank pages, calendar, workout journal, etc.)

4.  Boshamer Baseball Stadium

This past Saturday was so beautiful and I was lucky enough to spend it at the UNC baseball game with two of my best friends.  We got a little sunburnt, ate amazing hotdogs, walked through campus and grabbed a beer at Top of the Hill.  I swear there isn't a more beautiful campus anywhere.  Go Heels!

One of the only things I liked about living in PA was that we had some awesome outlets about 20 minutes from our apartment.  When we moved back to Durham, I knew that we were close to Southpoint Mall, but forgot that one of the best stores is Nordstrom Rack across the street!  I've been there a few times already in the past month and found a dress for my cousin's wedding, Kendra Scott earrings, and these awesome mirrored sunglasses very similar to the Ray Bans I was going to purchase at about 1/8 of the price!

I'm always up for trying new breweries and this one did not disappoint.  We sat outside at picnic tables with a bunch of people that had just participated in a run club.  We will definitely be back and it doesn't hurt that the Durham location of The Pig is right next door!

My BFF was in town and we were looking for something to do on a Saturday afternoon and headed right around the corner to Sam's Bottle Shop.  They had a huge selection of bottles you can take with you and 28 beers on draft (mostly local!).  We enjoyed a few draft beers on their upstairs patio and soaked in some sun!

I needed presents for two of my best friends who had birthdays in April and I had been following Moon and Lola on Instagram for a few months and knew they had just opened a location in Cameron Village.  Naturally I high tailed it there and it was as adorable in person as the features on Instagram.  Cue walking out with a cute greeting card, mini elephant bracelet, and beautiful jewel colored earrings.  Score!

In an attempt to really start shopping local, I went to the Durham Farmer's Market in downtown Durham one Saturday morning and it was more than I ever imagined it would be!  Stands with beautiful produce, bread, cheese, and flowers galore!  I bought some of the best sourdough bread I've ever had that first weekend and vowed to go whenever I was in town.  Bonus: there is a section for crafts, craft beer and food trucks!

We went to see Zac Brown Band and I was reminded of why I love this Raleigh venue so much.  Open lawn seating, plenty of space to tailgate, and sitting outside on a perfect night!
